Jaclyn Pfenning
Director of Strategic Alignment
Jaclyn is a former math educator with a background in teaching and public education who is deeply committed to helping students and teachers succeed within complex instructional systems. She is especially passionate about creating clarity for educators so that high-quality math instruction remains student-centered, flexible, and responsive. Jaclyn holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics PK-14 and brings a strong commitment to culturally responsive, mastery-based learning. Throughout her career, she has worked at the intersection of equitable math instruction, curriculum, and systems-level alignment.
At the Modern Classrooms Project, Jaclyn brings together her love of instruction, problem-solving, and collaboration to support educators and partners in making decisions that honor both learning goals and real classroom contexts. She believes that thoughtful systems, strong relationships, and inclusive design can transform classrooms into spaces of curiosity, confidence, and belonging. Outside of work, Jaclyn enjoys spending time with her daughter, husband, dogs, and extended family and friends. You’ll often find her hiking, camping, and chasing Arizona sunsets or heading out on new adventures in the family camper van. She values laughter, optimism, and finding the good along the way.
