📚 Book Club: The Shift to Student-Led, Session 4

An image of the book The Shift to Student-Led sits next to the words "See you at Book Club!":

Are you ready to make teacher conferences a team sport? Join our book club and dive into The Shift to Student-Led by Catlin Tucker and Katie Novak. We'll explore Workflow Shift 9: strategies that empower students to take the lead on communicating their progress.

Let's ditch the one-way street of teacher-initiated updates and build a bridge to powerful, student-owned conversations. Get ready to turn family communication into a celebration of student voice!

In this book club, we hope to:

  1. Build a shared, foundational understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Blended Learning.

  2. Consider how many common teacher practices support (or don't support) UDL and Blended Learning.

  3. Explore practical, immediate shifts in teacher practice to support UDL and Blended Learning.

  4. Provide a resource bank to allow all participants to continue their learning and shifts in practice beyond the book study.

In planning this book study, we tried to follow the philosophical ideas of UDL and Blended Learning.  See if you can spot these practices as you engage!
