Artificial Intelligence (AI)
in Modern Classrooms

We believe that teaching is a fundamentally human endeavor. In Modern Classrooms, teachers use technology to free up their time and attention to work closely with their learners, one-on-one and in small groups. We do not believe that there is any replacement for a committed teacher - and we’ve designed our model to empower those teachers.

With that said, we believe that AI tools can help Modern Classroom educators save time planning their lessons. These tools, like our model, can help educators focus their energy on what really matters in a classroom: meeting each individual learner’s needs.

To that end, we are currently working with innovative software companies to create AI tools that are specifically designed for Modern Classroom educators. These tools will help our educators create effective blended, self-paced, mastery-based lessons in a matter of minutes - and allow every educator to customize these lessons for the learners they know best.

We expect to launch these tools sometime in the summer of 2025. In the meantime, for teachers eager to get started using AI in their own classrooms, we believe there are several ways that educators can use existing AI tools to save precious planning time.

All of these tools are free for educators to use.

  1. Create Mastery Checks (MagicSchool). Mastery is the goal of every Modern Classroom. You can easily generate brief assessments (printed or digital) that students can use to prove their understanding of core content and skills.

  2. Generate Collaborative Practice Activities (MagicSchool). In a Modern Classroom, students should work together to develop mastery. You can use AI to suggest standards-aligned practice for learners to complete together.

  3. Suggest “Aspire-to-Do” extension activities (MagicSchool). One way to differentiate instruction in a self-paced classroom is by creating highly engaging extension activities. MagicSchool has several easy and efficient tools to help you do just that.

We are also currently evaluating SlidesGo as a tool to create video-ready slides - we have a tutorial coming soon.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we are eager to learn from educators like you what is working when it comes to AI. If you’d like to review one of the tools above - or recommend a tool for us to share - please complete the form below.
