About the Book
Meet Every Learner's Needs isn't a theory book — it's a practitioner's guide. Robert Barnett developed the Modern Classrooms model while teaching high school math in Washington, D.C., and this book is the story of how that model came to be, why it works, and exactly how you can implement it in your own classroom.
The book is organized around three questions every teacher faces: How do I design a lesson that works for students at every level? How do I structure a course so that every student can succeed at their own pace? And how do I share what I've built — with my students, my school community, and the world? Each section moves from the theory to the concrete, drawing on research, program evaluation data, and insights from more than forty Modern Classroom educators worldwide.
Whether you're new to blended learning or already using elements of the model, Meet Every Learner's Needs gives you a clear framework for building a classroom that is genuinely responsive to every student — not just the ones who happen to learn at the pace you're teaching.
About the Author
Robert Barnett
Robert Barnett is the co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Modern Classrooms Project. He developed the Modern Classroom model while teaching at Eastern High School in Washington, D.C., where he worked alongside co-founder Kareem Farah. He holds degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
