Our talented team drives everything that we do. We are proud to offer our team members a comprehensive package that supports their and their families’ growth.

As a full-time employee of the Modern Classrooms Project, you will receive:

  • Your base salary is based on your job responsibilities, experience, and location. Annual increases take into account your contribution to our mission, the impact and scale of your role, and market factors.

    We evaluate compensation regularly to ensure that staff members are being paid equitably and that our salaries are competitive with leading national nonprofits.

  • We’ll cover 80% of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for you and your family. You can choose from a variety of nationwide insurance plans offered by CareFirst.

    In addition, we offer life and disability insurance, 24/7 employee assistance, an app for mental and physical wellness, and a yearly wellness stipend of $600.

  • We offer access to a 403(b) deferred compensation plan, sponsored by Vanguard. You may contribute on a pre- or post-tax basis; after an initial vesting period, we’ll match your contributions dollar-for-dollar up 3% of your base salary.

  • Each year you’ll receive four weeks of paid vacation, as well as two “me” days to be used whenever you like. We’re also off on all federal holidays, the days before and after Thanksgiving, and the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

    When you need it, we offer paid sick leave (9 days/year), bereavement leave (3 days), and parental leave (12 weeks for any new parent, including adoption).

  • You can live where you like and, outside of general meeting times (usually 11am-5pm Eastern) work when you like, too. Although our team lives across the world, we gather virtually as a staff at least once per week, and for an in-person retreat at least once per year.

    To support you in working from home, we’ll provide you with a laptop and other computer hardware, as well as a yearly home office stipend of $500.

  • We’ll pay for your subscriptions to MasterClass and Blinkist, and sponsor you in completing up to $8,000 of professional development (of your choosing) per eligible employee, per year if approved.

    Finally, we sponsor regular team-building activities, such as “Lunch & Learn” presentations and Airbnb experiences, throughout the year, with lunch provided through UberEats.
